Monica has deep roots in Hockessin, and lives in the same neighborhood where she grew up with her 5 year old son and her husband, Mike. Her commitment to this community started in middle school, when she served in student government at Independence School. Today she works statewide, advocating to increase access to essential services for all Delawareans and ensuring the safety of survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
Monica developed her expertise in policy as an undergraduate at Trinity College Dublin, and then as a PhD student in law and sociology at the University of Sussex. She then came back to Delaware to pursue a law degree from the Delaware Law School.
In addition to her professional work, Monica currently serves on the boards of the Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence, the Friends of CASA, and the First State Abortion Fund, which she co-founded in June 2022. Monica seeks every opportunity to apply her knowledge and passion to help the community where she lives with her family.
