Monica is effective. Between her advocacy for survivors of domestic violence to her work for victims of our housing crisis, I have seen Monica work and win for our neighbors. I have also seen Monica in Legislative Hall and I have watched her convince politicians that the problems she is fighting are problems that they should do something about too. She is a leader that
actually fights for what she believes in and gets things done.
In my work with Monica, I have found that her passion and dedication to creating change allows her to find creative solutions that others often overlook.
Monica was an early and strong supporter in the fight for paid leave. She understands what Delaware families need to thrive, and she knows what it takes to make big change a reality.
Monica has been a member of the DAASV Board almost since the beginning, joining in 2020. She is dedicated to the mission of DAASV - creating an inclusive community that supports survivors of sexual violence through Advocacy, Intervention, and Awareness.
When I think of Monica, I think of someone who is well-connected in the state and knows how to get a job done. Last spring I asked the board members to recruit additional board members as we had lost some members in the last year. Monica alone recruited three excellent new members, and those new members recruited three more excellent new members. Monica is a doer!
Monica has a welcoming personality and makes people feel comfortable bringing their ideas and concerns forward. She is a clear thinker, who considers the ideas and opinions of others and comes to responsible and thoughtful conclusions. Monica represents herself and the people on whose behalf she is working very well. She is well-spoken when presenting her thoughts or addressing important matters.
As a self-employed esthetician with a business in the 22nd district, I care deeply about the well-being of this community and its future. I have seen how fiercely Monica has fought to protect our children from gun violence, to advocate for victims of domestic violence and to preserve the reproductive rights that I and so many of my clients hold so dear.
Owning a small business comes with challenges, and I appreciate that Monica wants to make self-employment more attainable for all workers by providing more grants to artisans and entrepreneurs, especially those in underserved areas.
